Vancouver's event is recognized as one of the largest GSD celebrations in the world, typically featuring mass group skates through downtown and trick challenges for cash prizes. 

2026 Event Alerts

  • Logistics Note: The Vancouver Skateboard Coalition (VSBC) has noted that FIFA World Cup 2026 matches at BC Place on June 21st will lead to major road closures downtown, which may impact the traditional parade route and event schedule.

  • Announcements: While specific 2026 times and obstacles are typically announced closer to June, the community has already begun teasing "major announcements" for this year's global holiday. 

Based on previous years, we can expect a similar flow with changes to accomodate the FFIA World Cup:

  • 11:00 AM – Meetup: Skaters gather at the Vancouver Downtown Skate Plaza (under the Georgia Viaduct) for warm-ups and giveaways.

  • 12:00 PM – The Roll-Out: A mass skate session moves through the city streets.

  • Trick Stops: The group traditionally stops at iconic spots for "Cash for Tricks" sessions. Common locations include:

    • Vancouver Art Gallery

    • Terry Fox Plaza

    • The Law Courts

  • Evening – Official After-Party: Historically hosted at Fortune Sound Club,
